Below you will find an overview of all BE REEL! integrated projects. These are divided into the following categories:
- prepatory projects = A-projects
- pilots, demonstration projects and capacity building = C-projects
Each project is managed by one or multiple beneficiaries.

[A01] Learning network for interregional exchange and cooperation
A learning network is a cooperation between two or more partners who commit themselves to exchange kwowledge and best practices in order to achieve better results for their own projects. For BE REEL! there will be such a learning network for the two Belgian regions Flanders and Wallonia, and for EU member states.

[A03] Testing and refining of the developed Renovation Advice tool in the region of Flanders
The renovation advice tool offers the Flemish house owner tailor-made advice on the renovation needs of the separate parts of his house. This tool is an important, not to mention crucial part of the housing passport.

[A04] Step-by-step testing of the housing passport
The Flemish housing passport is an important application within the Flemish Renovation strategy. It wil seve as a free digital vault in which (future) house owners can consult all information on their housing unit that is available in all the governments’ databases. The launch of this housing passport is foreseen in 2018.

[A05] Enabling the implementation of the Quickscan in Walloon Region
The Quickscan tool will make it easier for the Walloon user to quickly assess the potential energy savings and housing quality without the intervenience of a professional. The Quickscan tool will consultable via https://energie.wallonie.be BE REEL! allows the Walloon Region to collect data and to develop the content and operation of the tool.

[A06] Preparatory works for the content and form of the "roadmap of my housing unit’s Energy Retrofit”
This project will review of the EAP audit process and transform it into a complete decision-making and support tool: “The roadmap of my energy retrofit” . The aim is to present an energy renovation scenario aimed at achieving NZEB; establish a road map setting out the order of priority for actions; provide technical guidance for the resulting works; provide support to property owners in following the roadmap; certify that the expected improvement in performance has been achieved. (ref.: building renovation strategy of the Walloon region).

[A07] Development of the content and form of the "Building Passport"
The Walloon Housing Passport is the identity card of a housing unit in the Walloon Region: a dynamic digital record in which you can look up and maintain your property data. This record will be interactive and scalable, containing information about the administrative and technical details of the house.

[C01] Pilot projects: Testing business cases for renovation planners
In this action, business cases for a standardised and understandable renovation advice will be developed, using the renovation advice tool. The common idea in these business cases will be the concept of a one-stop-shop where people can get a reliable and affordable made-to-measure renovation advice, that will be integrated in the housing passport.

[C02] Pilots for testing the developed tool of the housing passport including the renovation advice
To optimize the housing passport as a central instrument, we need to test the use of it in different contexts in real time renovation projects. We will examine how the information in the housing passport, including the renovation advice, does actually facilitate and help people to start and follow up the deep renovation. This action is process oriented, and complementary to Action A4.

[C03] Demonstration of the best practices in various cities through the use of new tools such as Quickscan, the roadmap, and the Building Passport
The action consists of launching a pilot call for proposals within the municipalities having signed the Covenant of Majors and possessing a SEAP (Sustainable Energy Action Plan) or a SECAP (Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan) .

[C04] City of Mouscron: Quality of life through insulation and energy saving
The objective of this action will be to make the citizens of Picardy Wallonia aware of the energy saving potential of their property and to encourage them to renovate while becoming "energy" ambassador citizens among their peers. The aim will be to renovate 900 properties (180/year).

[C05] Pilot and demonstration projects for innovative business models for renovation
On top of pilot actions aiming at a proof of concept for the newly developed policy instruments and tools in both regions, we will work out a set of innovative business models made to measure for different segments of the housing market. Especially the following segments of the housing market where existing instruments don’t lead to extra renovation activities, need specific instruments: the private rental market (especially single houses and flats, 20% of the total housing market) neighbourhood level big apartment buildings with several co-owners (over 150.000)

[C06] Demonstration projects for collective renovation
The Flemish cities of Antwerp and Mechelen organize various demonstration projects on collective renovation. Specifically, it concerns the following projects: Antwerp: renovation of 500 houses to low-energy buildings Antwerp: renovation of 250 residences to nearly-zero-energy buildings Mechelen: renovation of 75 houses to 30kWh / m2 Mechelen: renovation of 50 houses to 50kWh / m2

[C08] Demonstration projects collective power through solar panels
The Flemish cities Ghent and Mechelen will organize several demonstration projects on collective renewable energy via solar panels, namely: collective solar panels for all Ghent neighbourhood residents. collective renewable energy for vulnerable families in Mechelen - in collaboration with social housing companies

[C09] Demonstration project: Shallow geothermal project Ghent
The city of Ghent will make an inventory of conditions for the project implementation geothermal energy in a city context, after analyzing 5 existing shallow geothermal installations. Based on the results of the analysis they – the city of Ghent - will work out a strategy for how, in which situations and under which conditions geothermal can be stimulated in a city context.

[C10] Demonstration project: Sustainable neighborhoods in Ghent
In January 2015 the city of Ghent launched the subsidy ‘sustainable neighbourhoods’ as a temporary subsidy in combination with all kinds of support we offer. It is a new approach to stimulate bottom-up initiatives for climate. Guidance and financial support are essential to increase the quality and success rate of these projects. In recent years, we have established that bottom-up climate projects can often have a major impact through their strength and local embedding.

[C11] Demonstration project: Collective renovation projects in Ghent
The city of Ghent has a strongly expanded offering of free renovation advice and renovation support. The Power Plant is the one-stop-shop where all inhabitants of Ghent can turn to with questions about energy-efficient renovation. In addition to this individual approach, the City of Ghent wants to use this action to develop an additional range of collective renovation.

[C12] Budget neutral retrofitting for vulnerable families (innovation Flemish energy loan) in Antwerp and Mechelen
For vulnerable families who have limited financial means to invest in the renovation of their home, the cities of Antwerp and Mechelen want to launch an innovative project based on the Flemish Energy Loan. They want to be able to guarantee that renovation for these families becomes budget neutral and therefore has no impact on the family budget. The monthly savings on the energy bill will then on average have to be higher than the monthly financial cost of the energy loan.

[C13] Implementation of third-party investment to finance the energy renovation of buildings in La Louvière
This action consists in setting up an innovative financing system via third-party investment, to improve the energy performance of housing, including social housing in La Louvière. The objective of this action is to improve the energy performance of at least 150 houses and 50 apartments per year, for a total of 800 dwellings (600 houses and 200 apartments) over 5 years throughout La Louvière.
